About Mark Verber
I’m Mark, a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of EPIC Counseling Solutions. I started this practice because I’m dedicated to making a difference in your life and our community. Not only was I was fortunate enough to be raised here, my wife and I have chosen to raise our family here.
I have found that counseling is most effective when it is grounded in what’s practical and inspired by what’s possible. This approach has allowed me to help couples in all stages of their life or relationship to reconnect. It is through this reconnection that they are able to resolve conflicts, rediscover joy, and redefine their future together.
When I work with individuals, I use a straightforward and strength-based approach to help high achievers achieve the one thing that often eludes them- modern wellness on their terms. Many times, it is the strongest and most successful individuals, that are in the greatest need of support. They accomplish more, juggle the most, and do it all for everyone else. All while carrying the biggest burden on their own. Sometimes their capability exceeds their confidence, or their confidence lacks consistency. They have it all together in most ways but are stuck in another. We all struggle at times, usually more than we need to.

I believe that change starts with a choice that is realized through connection. My experience has taught me that my relationship with you is what’s most important. Respect, communication, and understanding all work to build the therapeutic relationship, and help you to feel comfortable. When you feel the most comfortable, we have the best chance working together to achieve your goals. This starts by listening to you and is sustained by being open with you.
While my commitment is to compassion with every interaction, I also believe that a bit of authentic humor and heart can be useful elements when collaborating with you on your journey to enhance wellness.
Years of having the opportunity to help facilitate change within a diverse group of individuals, couples, and families has shown me that there is no challenge so small it’s not worth addressing, and no challenge so great that it can’t be overcome by doing so. Not only do you deserve it, you can do it.

- While with the WellSpan Bridges to Health program, his varied and inclusive approach was used to support and empower patients with complex medical and social challenges. As part of this, he conceptualized and facilitated The RISE Group therapeutic dynamic as an added component to the overall treatment equation. The group seeks to create meaning through connection while providing an opportunity for members to RISE up and overcome through its focus on Resiliency, Inspiration, Support, and Engagement.
- Mark’s work with youth with developmental delays inspired him to author his own line of poetic treatment tools called REACHable Teachables. The expanding catalog utilizes creative elements like personification and metaphor while incorporating rhythm, rhyme, and repetition to improve the internalization of concepts.
- In 2014, while working for the Diakon Specialized In-Home Treatment Program, Mark co-chaired the first-of-its-kind Project A.W.E. event in collaboration with YWCA’s Violence Intervention Program. The community outreach and creative arts-themed event sought to raise Awareness, embrace Wellness, and promote Empathy by bridging the gap between juveniles who had caused harm and a community seeking to heal.
